The International Institute for Human Security is an NGO focused on advancing key areas of human security known as Societal Stabilizers. Serving as a connecter, we work with actors at the local level in six regions involved in impactful work and connect them with individuals with extensive experience in a related field called specialists. The International Institute for Human Security focuses on key societal stabilizers related to dignity and equality and include: Good Governance and Organizational Transparency, Women, Migrants & Victims of Modern Day Slavery, Food and Environmental Sustainibility, The Responsibility to Protect, Climate Protection and Indigenous Liberties. The Insitute focuses on six regions: North America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, East Africa, West Africa (Francophone) and South Asia.


Serving as Advocacy Associate Intern you will work with the executive director and communications manager to write statements on behalf of the organziation related to the six areas of focus and the six regions we work in. 

Competencies include:

·      Excellent writing, proofreading and copywriting skills

·      Interest in international affairs, human rights, climate and/or good governance

·      Strong work ethic (on time and follow through essential)

·      Professionalism

·      Bilingual in French or Arabic considered a bonus, but not essential

·      Personal standard for subject sensitivity and diplomacy

·      Experience and/or desire work with international remote team
