• Application Deadline: 08/30/2019
  • Company: MSU Museum
  • Location: East Lansing, Michigan

The MSU Museum Education Department offers internship opportunities throughout the academic year, and is accepting applications for FA19 and SP20 internships. Internships are unpaid. All internships may be done for credit – the student is responsible to complete all paperwork and requirements for credit through their respective departments.

Museum Education/Informal Learning Interns are expected to work for a period of 12-15 weeks, for 8-10 hours per week. The internship’s primary focus will be project-based, with the intern either developing their own project or joining a current education project as a key team member. The secondary focus of the internship will be more general museum education and informal learning, giving the intern broader experiences in a variety of programs and range of audiences. Interns will work with members of the public, greet groups, observe and assist with a variety of visits and public programs, as well as take part in program and material preparation. As a final project, interns are expected to complete an online portfolio or some other record of their internship and accomplishments.
