Philanthropy and Public Relations Intern
S.A.F.E. Place is committed to helping victims of domestic violence and their families in Calhoun, Eaton and Barry Counties by: Providing quality shelter and crisis intervention services at no cost, and Advocating for safety as prescribed by the law.
CLASSIFICATION: Fund Development, Marketing and Communications
SUPERVISOR:  Philanthropy and Public Relations Manager
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Interns will learn about grant writing and donor management. Interns will assist with planning events and communicating with donors and the public.  
Key Job Duties Include:
1)   Donor relations- donor recognition, solicitation of donations, donor data base entry and management
2)   Fund Development- support special projects, fundraising strategy development and implementation, assist with grant research, writing and reporting, create inventory of auction items and event supplies
3)   Event support and coordination- assistance with event planning and coordination, including annual events, fundraisers, and community engagement opportunities
4)   Marketing and Communications- development and/or distribution of marketing materials, social media and web page content development and management
5)   Organizational Knowledge and Professional Development- Develops comprehensive understanding of domestic violence and the services and supports provided by S.A.F.E. Place, attends agency and community meetings, completes in-service trainings as required, other duties as assigned by Executive Director or designee
