Students participating in this program will obtain intensive training in Chinese with maximum exposure to the Chinese language environment and increase cultural awareness of Chinese society and its people through a Chinese buddy program, culture workshops, homestay experiences, experiential learning, organized events, and field trips.

The program takes place at the Overseas Student Center of Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) in Harbin, China – one of the top nine institutions in China with an experienced faculty and staff who have considerable experience working with international students.  The city of Harbin is the tenth largest city in China, with a population close to 10 million, and the political, economic, scientific, cultural, and communications center of Northeastern China. Harbin is one of the most beautiful cities in China and is well-known for its unique European and Russian-influenced architecture.

Students will participate in 20 hours of language classes per week, as well as a series of culture workshops throughout the program.
