Career Advising Appointments
Career advising appointments are available to current, Arts & Letters, degree-seeking undergraduate students and recent graduates (up to two years post-graduation).
Our general and discipline-specific career advisors can assist students and alumni with a range of career development and planning topics, such as:
- Assessing skills and professional interests
- Choosing a major and exploring careers and industries
- Gaining experience through internships, part-time work, and other professional development opportunities
- Writing resumes and cover letters
- Developing a job search strategy
- Building a professional network
- Preparing for interviews
- Evaluating job offers
- Exploring graduate and professional school options and preparing application materials
Schedule an Appointment: Advising appointments, in-person and virtual, are available through Handshake. Once logged in, click on the “Career Center” tab in the top right-hand corner of your home page, and then click on “appointments” to schedule a time that works for you.

Maggie Harris, MSW
Assistant Director of Internships & Career Education
Maggie helps College of Arts & letters students integrate their classroom knowledge with real-life work opportunities. Some of her favorite career development activities include resume and cover letter consultations, connecting students to internship opportunities, and bringing together students and alumni with shared professional interests. Maggie has two bachelor’s degrees from MSU and a Master of Social Work degree from Washington University in St. Louis.

Victoria Morris, M.A.
Career Consultant
Victoria guides students and recent graduates in exploring career paths, preparing for professional opportunities both during and after college, and connecting with professionals in fields of interest. Victoria has nearly ten years of experience in career services and supporting students as they navigate internship and job search, creating professional documents, graduate school planning, building alumni and employer connections, and more. Victoria holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from MSU.
