Job Summary/Description:
Newsroom assistants will work with multi-media journalists, newscast producers, photojournalists, and digital staff with story development and research, interviewing sources, shooting, writing scripts, editing video, digital publishing and other newsroom roles. This is a part-time position aimed at giving college students a first-hand experience of all aspects of a newsroom. The goal is to leave you ready for your first professional job in the TV news industry.
Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Newsroom assistants will work with multi-media journalists, newscast producers, photojournalists, and digital staff with story development and research, interviewing sources, shooting, writing scripts, editing video, digital publishing and other newsroom roles
- This is a part-time position aimed at giving college students a first-hand experience of all aspects of a newsroom. The goal is to leave you ready for your first professional job in the TV news industry
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- This position is designed to build on journalism knowledge. Applicants should have completed at least basic college coursework in journalism or related major.
- Must be a college student enrolled in journalism, broadcasting or similar related field of study.
- Position must be tied to course requirements.
- Must be 18 years or older.
