Arts & Letters Projects for Students

Arts & Letters Projects is a micro-internship program funded by the College of Arts & Letters’ Excel Network.

  • Short-term: Opportunities take fewer than 45 hours to complete.
  • Compensation: Paid via stipend; pay is based on $17/hr.
  • Flexibility: Some opportunities are remote, while others are in person.
  • Perfect Summer Gig: Takes place from June 1 – July 30.
  • Professional experiences: Great way to build professional experience on your resume and portfolio.

The deadline to apply is May 9, 2024.

Research and add a “Points of Pride” page on the East Lansing Public Schools district website that shares why it’s great to live in East Lansing.

Produce a video welcoming students on campus in their language to be used by CAL and the language departments.

Act as a mentor to a small group of international language students, providing them with English language conversation and cultural mentorship.

Digitize a photo and artifact collection, and design a poster and social media posts about the collection. 

Create two logos for La Casa and the translation program to be used on professional marketing materials.

Love MSU and MSU Sports? Create graphics and other promotional materials about football coach Duffy Daugherty’s trailblazing role in integrating athletic teams.

Fully redesign the website for the Center for Integrative Studies in the Arts and Humanities, including a review of the site’s accessibility, graphics/layout, and user experience.

Develop an edited volume and a digital bibliography on the topic of Mediterranean Women Authors.

Become an integral part of the marketing team at Williamston Theatre by creating promotional materials and shooting content for social media platforms.

Update the Citizen Scholars website to tell their story and showcase student work better

Flex your technical writing skills by communicating how to navigate the new Humanities Commons website, an open-access platform connecting scholars.

Celebrate climbing, jumping, flying, and running – grow the presence of Spartan Ninja Warrior on social media and their website by creating short, entertaining videos. 

Pump up your portfolio by designing a logo and marketing materials for the 2025 Michigan World Language Association conference.

Make history come alive as you create recordings from Black women educators and celebrate their contributions to society. 

Want to work with creatives who amplify young people’s voices? Produce the next issue of Melt Magazine and plan their summer public art exhibition.

Promote a podcast focusing on the life and legacy of Teddy Roosevelt, former US president and namesake of the iconic teddy bear, through engaging social media posts and recommendations for their website.
