Prevention, Outreach, and Education (POE) Peer Educator

  • Application Deadline: 7/1/22
  • Company: MSU Office for Institutional Diversity and Inclusion
  • Location: East Lansing, Michigan

Role Description

Peer Educators for the Prevention, Outreach and Education department at MSU facilitate workshops designed to promote awareness and safety in the MSU community. They will be responsible for promoting an atmosphere conducive to educating and empowering MSU students to become active bystanders and allies.

People of all genders and identities are needed to lead these workshops. Experience in sexual assault and relationship violence prevention or response is encouraged, but by no means necessary.

We are looking for MSU students who are enthusiastic, interested in expanding public speaking skills, developing leadership skills, expressing a willingness to learn, and are able to connect with other students across campus. In this position, you would have the opportunity to educate students on gender-based violence prevention and empower them to stand up for themselves and others as we aim to create a safer MSU for all.

You can contact Damaris Crocker De Ruiter, the POE Peer Educator Coordinator, at poe.damariscrockerderuiter@msu.edu with any questions.
