The College of Arts & Letters partners with Global Experiences – an organization that facilitates all on-site aspects of the program including identifying customized internship placements for each student in industries including, but not limited to:

Included in the NYC program is the award-winning Global Career Readiness Program that combines assessment, coaching, and experiences to connect students’ academic experiences with their professional ambitions. They take a strengths-based approach and focus on helping every participant meet their potential and find a career they love.

Program Dates:  June 1 – July 27, 2024

Application Deadline:  February 9, 2024

Eligibility:  Open to all majors within the College of Arts & Letters; 3.0 GPA minimum; Must be at junior (or rising junior) standing by program start date.

Academics:  Students enroll in AL 493A: Arts & Letters Internship course for a minimum of 6 credits.

Housing:  Students are housed with roommates in a furnished apartment. The apartment is within walking distance of public transportation, shops and restaurants. Each unit has a mini kitchen (equipped with a stove, sink, and fridge), 24/7 surveillance and front desk person, a student lounge equipped with smart TVs, a study room, and more. Single housing is available for an additional $1,500 (estimated cost).

Estimated Program Fee: $3,950
Program fee includes housing, placement services, on-site support, and professional development workshops. The program fee does not include tuition, travel, local transportation, or personal spending money. This includes an automatic $1,000 scholarship from the Excel Network, which results in the $3,950 fee.

Applicants who have a major within the College of Arts & Letters are eligible to apply for the CAL Study Away Scholarship (included under the “Experiential Learning Scholarship”).
