AIFS Study Abroad Program

What did your daily routine include?
There was no set schedule each day I walked into work, which was daunting but most work time consisted of maintenance such as preparing the gallery walls, arranging artwork, and communicating with artists and the community.

Your favorite experience from the internship?
I got the chance to meet artists and discover how they manipulate their mediums to communicate their messages/ideas.

What was your least favorite part of the internship?
My least favorite part would be the commute, I exclusively used the subway and the summer heat was no joke!

What did you learn about the industry or your career path as a result of the internship? What are your future plans?
I’ve learned that there are so many opportunities and diverse pathways for someone in the design field and I hope to figure out which path best suits my talents.

What advice do you have for other students seeking out internship opportunities?
Don’t hesitate or deviate from opportunities that scare you. I’ve found the more nervous I am, the more I learn/gain.
