    • Current résumé (Prior to applying, we strongly suggest scheduling an appointment with a representative from the College of Arts & Letters via Handshake to prepare your résumé)
    • One-page statement of interest addressing your goals and preparation for the internship experience
  • After applications are reviewed, applicants may be invited to schedule a Zoom conversation with a member of the Excel Network team to discuss your goals and review program details.
  • Students who are accepted will have their names, résumés, and interest statements forwarded to one of our placement partners. Students will then receive information on arranging a conversation with a placement coordinator, with whom you will discuss your background, goals, resume, and possible placement areas.
    • Students are encouraged to be as flexible and open-minded as possible about placements, locations, types of work, and other details.

No placement will be considered official or finalized until a student has completed an interview and been approved by the host organization. Students should be aware that they may not know their final placement until shortly (+/- 2 weeks) prior to their internship’s start date. Flexibility and open-mindedness are key.
