The Institution

Founded in 1964, Lancaster University is a research-intensive institution ranked among the top 10 universities in the UK. The main campus resides in the countryside just three miles south of the center of Lancaster. It has a student body of approximately 13,000 and each year welcomes nearly 3,000 international students to campus from all over the world.  Lancaster is home to nine colleges in various subjects. Outside of academics, you will also find that Lancaster University offers a variety of cafes, a swimming pool, student-run cinema and abundant outdoor spaces for your enjoyment.

The Location

The city of Lancaster is situated on the western coast of England surrounded by breathtaking coastline and dramatic mountains. Nearby you will find beautiful countryside and the Lake District, which is a UNESCO world heritage site. It is also a great location for its relative proximity to other major British cities such as Manchester (1 hour by car) and London (2.5 hours by car).
