Student Preparatory Assistant

How did you obtain your internship? What resources did you utilize to secure your internship?
I was referred to by faculty within the AAHD department.

What did your daily routine include?
It regularly changed, with new and varied tasks each shift.

Your favorite experience from the internship (2-3 sentences)
Seeing all the ways that art gets handled by professionals, and learning how to use 3D modeling to layout gallery spaces.

What was your least favorite part of the internship?
Sometimes tasks are oblique or poorly defined, which can be frustrating.

What skills did you learn and/or build upon during your internship?
I learned better modes of communication and teamwork. I also learned more about Adobe software and 3D modeling software.

What did you learn about the industry or your career path as a result of the internship? What are your future plans?
As an artist, I learned what not to do if I want my art to last or to be easily displayed.

What advice do you have for other students seeking out internship opportunities?
Be assertive and professional. Make sure your emails are to the point and not worded in the same way you would word a text message.
