What was your internship title and role/responsibilities?
As a Fashion Merchandising and Design Intern with Jaline Resorts, I ran the social media accounts and the brand website. I also had the opportunity to design and style a photoshoot.

How did you obtain your internship? What resources did you utilize to secure your internship?
I went through Michigan State and utilized Global Experiences. They put me in contact with Jaline and helped me secure my spot.

What did your daily routine include?
It was always changing but always included working on the brand’s website with products, homepages, social media posts, and interactions designing sourcing materials.

Your favorite experience from the internship?
My favorite experience was styling a photoshoot. It was my first ever styling job and it was the best experience.

What was your least favorite part of the internship?
I honestly didn’t have any bad experiences with my internship, I got very lucky.

What skills did you learn and/or build upon during your internship?
I built time management skills, hand sewing skills, and technology skills, like Procreate, Excel, and Shopify

What did you learn about the industry or your career path as a result of the internship? What are your future plans?
I learned that I am in the perfect field for me! My future plans will be to move to NYC and hopefully work for a luxury brand.

What advice do you have for other students seeking out internship opportunities?
Be patient, and trust the processes because it will be worth it in the end.
