I loved the flexibility in the work, developing content and understanding the strategy behind social media engagement. Most of all, I loved going out in the country to take photos for the website/social media and creating Instagram reels for both Tourism Ireland and Maxmedia Ireland.
At Zahra Media Group, I worked as an editorial intern for their content branch, easyFood. Throughout my internship, I wrote articles for the easyFood website, edited interviews, and wrote pieces for their magazine publication.
As a Political Intern, I was outsourced through the Sierra Club to work on Governor Whitmer's campaign this past fall. I helped schedule, plan, and execute political events such as rallies, meet-ups, and Q and A's. I also helped spread information about Whitmer's campaign and events.
As a Digital Literacy & Learning Intern with the Lansing Refugee Development Center, I assisted with the administrative organization of the DLL program, hands-on assistance in DLL classes, CASAS, and Northstar Admin certification. With this position, I learned a lot about how a non-profit runs both in the financial sense and the literal organizational sense.
I was a translation intern, so I translated documents between English and Spanish (mostly from Spanish to English). These documents included presentations about sustainability, diversity training, event communications, and social media posts. I got to work with a wide range of topics and different speech registers, which I found to be really fun because I got to experience a lot of different aspects of communication.
I was a Student Preparatory Assistant at the MSU Broad Art Museum. At my internship, I learned better modes of communication and teamwork. I also learned more about Adobe software and 3D modeling software. As an artist, I learned what not to do if I want my art to last or to be easily displayed.
My internship title at the Women’s Center was “Client Support Intern.” My position mainly functioned to serve the consumers of the center by helping them achieve their goals. This would often include assisting consumers with resume building and using technology; helping them fill out paperwork; creating appropriate looks for work or job interviews out of our professional clothing closet; and possibly referring them to other community resources.
As a Tech Apparel Merchandising Intern for Marmot, I loved exploring Northern California and getting some awesome recommendations from co-workers on things to do while I was out there. I really enjoyed meeting the people I worked with all summer and beginning to feel like a part of the team.
I interned at Yale University with Professor. Jason Shaw in New Haven, Connecticut as a Research Assistant. My primary responsibilities were assisting with an Electromagnetic Articulography experiment and I was also in charge of post-processing and data analysis.
Some of my favorite parts of my internship with V.Mora were getting to help clients with their creative choices such as mood boards, social media, and aesthetics, as well as getting to work at some cool events like a fabric sourcing trade show where I got to network and meet some cool people.
