Internships

As an Office Intern, I worked closely with the paralegal staff in the office to ensure that legal proceedings ran smoothly. I conducted a lot of phone-based client communication, such as scheduling attorney-client appointments, answering any questions they may have, and listening to the occasional monologue. I also drafted letters to communicate information pertaining to legal proceedings, any enclosed documents for their cases, and I utilized the defenderData software to ensure that case records were accurately maintained. Ultimately, anything the office needed me to do, I did.

Isabella Hughes was a legal intern assigned to the misdemeanor division to support and assist Chelsea Vergiels, an assistant public defender at Washtenaw County.

As a CIU Intern, my role was to assist attorneys in screening applications for post-conviction claims of innocence, reviewing and summarizing legal documents, and investigative materials for evaluation.

I used MSU's study abroad portal to discover CRCC Asia's Internships in Kansai Region, Japan program. I applied and later interviewed with MSU, CRCC Asia, and Kyotech. I used resources available at MSU to help me write my resume and prepare for interview questions.
