My title was UX Design Intern and for my summer project, I worked on redesigning an employee-facing program experience to improve the user experience of the program’s processes. Aside from designing in Figma, I’ve had to attend multiple stakeholder meetings, conduct thorough user research, and update my whole team on my progress every week in stand-ups.
As a Student Ceramics Intern, I had the opportunity to develop my pottery skills and help around the studio with other tasks and projects when needed, like loading kilns, firing the raku, and cleaning the space. I built upon my wheel skills by throwing clay, trimming on the wheel, and then glazing when dried.
As an Excel Network intern, my responsibilities included a variety of tasks. On any given day, I was creating newsletters that advertised on- and off-campus jobs, or I was writing blog-style newsletters about career development topics.
I was an English as a Second Language instructor who accompanied the classroom to help deliver lessons. Each class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings places members in the hands of instructors who offer a range of fundamental learning advice. Meeting these members involves progress reports which measure per week.
My internship title was the website intern for Michigan State University's Department of Linguistics, Languages and Cultures. This position included doing website maintenance of the department website, wire frame new webpages, hold office hours for staff members who need help, and help create flyers and infographics.
