Hadara Willis

As a gallery intern, I helped to maintain the gallery spaces I worked in, which included installation and de-installation, as. well as general maintenance and cleaning. I also served as a representative for the gallery and regularly interacted with the general public. I help to make executive creative decisions when installing shows, and take into consideration the best presentation for a piece(s) dependent on the space, other pieces it is being displayed with, and possible reception from the public.

Spanish Language, Literature, and Culture in Santander

Santander, Spain | Summer

The Department of Romance and Classical Studies, in collaboration with the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (UIMP) in Santander, offers a Spanish studies program during the summer. While in Spain, students will enroll for nine credits of Spanish coursework and live with a Spanish family. In addition to courses, three excursions will be offered including a 2-night and 3-day trip to Madrid.

I was a translation intern, so I translated documents between English and Spanish (mostly from Spanish to English). These documents included presentations about sustainability, diversity training, event communications, and social media posts. I got to work with a wide range of topics and different speech registers, which I found to be really fun because I got to experience a lot of different aspects of communication.
