I interned with the youth mentoring program at the Refugee Development Center (RDC). I worked in a classroom with two other teachers. I mostly helped the teachers with lesson planning. My responsibilities specifically included creating English (grammar oriented) lessons meant for high school aged students.
I was an English as a Second Language instructor who accompanied the classroom to help deliver lessons. Each class on Tuesday and Thursday evenings places members in the hands of instructors who offer a range of fundamental learning advice. Meeting these members involves progress reports which measure per week.
As apart of a Student Co-op with DTE Energy, I interacted with customers and aided in gas renewal scheduling, plotted grids/maps to plan large-scale projects of gas renewal, utilized Maximo, Excel, SAP, ESRI, and CRM to manage customer information efficiently and effectively, and worked alongside the management team in scheduling renewal jobs around the West Michigan area.
I interned under Judge Aquilina and reported to her law clerk Logan Byrne. My role was to receive assignments given to me by Logan and to evaluate the law to come to a sound and reasonable conclusion regarding the facts of the case.
I was a Copy Editing Intern at ASCENDtials. I was in charge of editing and writing grants, editing social media posts, writing emails to try and establish a collaboration with companies with the same mission as us, and just overall being another set of eyes for any kind of documentation we sent out or produced.
As an Office Intern with Ionia County Public Defenders, I was responsible for assisting paralegals and attorneys in trial preparation. This included handling legal documents, scheduling appointments for clients, and attending both district and circuit court hearings.
As a gallery intern, I helped to maintain the gallery spaces I worked in, which included installation and de-installation, as. well as general maintenance and cleaning. I also served as a representative for the gallery and regularly interacted with the general public. I help to make executive creative decisions when installing shows, and take into consideration the best presentation for a piece(s) dependent on the space, other pieces it is being displayed with, and possible reception from the public.
I was a Salt Company Intern. As an intern, I Ied as a student leader by setting the pace and culture within our leadership team and building meaningful relationships with new students, freshmen, and younger leaders. I helped with planning and executing The Commons Church events and the Salt Company gathering and events and assisted in other Salt Company activities.
I loved the flexibility in the work, developing content and understanding the strategy behind social media engagement. Most of all, I loved going out in the country to take photos for the website/social media and creating Instagram reels for both Tourism Ireland and Maxmedia Ireland.
At Zahra Media Group, I worked as an editorial intern for their content branch, easyFood. Throughout my internship, I wrote articles for the easyFood website, edited interviews, and wrote pieces for their magazine publication.
