I was a wildlife rehab assistant at Nottingham Nature Nook. My duties were to help feed, medicate, and exercise the wildlife we'd taken in for rehabilitation along with a pamphlet to help advertise the center. I got a lot of hands-on experience with animal care, maintenance, and advertisement.
I was a graphic design intern for Cardinal Rule Press. I helped create social media posts for book launches, events, webinar panels, and more. I also created for-print templates for their sister, nonprofit company—Making Spirits Bright—such as brochures and teacher events for their free book fairs. Additionally, I worked collaboratively with my fellow design and editorial interns to create a kid's menu and reader's guide for their upcoming book release.
As an art director at Ivy House in Brooklyn, NY, most of my work was making promotional flyers to let people know about the studio and the events there such as free music events, and markets to name a few. I also took some videos and pictures of the studio and some events there, and then made a short video with the videos that I took during the internship.
I was an Internal Email Marketing & Promotions Specialist for Birchwood Farms Country Club in Harbor Springs, MI. I would produce and execute all Club departmental email campaigns, including building emails, copywriting, quality assurance, and scheduling to drive member engagement in club activities and events throughout the 2024 summer season.
I was an intern/writer with METAL Magazine who wrote interviews and reviews of singles, albums, EPs, and LPs that musicians were planning on releasing. I had to schedule and perform a live interview over Zoom with one of the bands I wrote interview questions for. I researched and wrote proposals for possible new articles, reviews, or interviews for upcoming projects.
For my editorial writing internship at The Sun Times, I was responsible for receiving and posting obituaries, press releases, and public notices online on our website, as well as formatting and submitting them for physical prints each week. I also was assigned a variety of articles to write each week, which potentially included interviews with people. In addition to posting and writing articles, I also proof-read the draft of three separate printed papers to look for errors.
As a Gallery Assistant for the Greenpoint Gallery in Brooklyn, NY, I created graphics and design for the gallery's social media as well as promotional material. I also helped maintain the gallery in order to create a presentable space for exhibitions.
During this internship, I was a law intern/legal assistant with Brenda Beaton Attorney at Law. I was lucky enough to attend court hearings and mediation and draft divorce decrees, stipulations, and motions to enforce. I also sat in on mediations and client meetings as well as assisted with anything else that came up or needed more eyes or hands.
I was an exhibitions intern for Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center and I helped my coworkers who work for the exhibitions coordinator complete daily tasks such as inventory, setting up the gallery, promotion, and filing paperwork.
I was a summer intern for the 30th Judicial Circuit Court. My role/responsibilities were to prepare the courtroom in the morning for hearings, sentencing, trials, and jury selection. I also conducted legal research, created bench memos, and edited brief reports. Lastly, I handled jury management and jury selection.
