I wore, what some would say “a lot of different hats” at my internship. Being at a smaller organization meant I had the opportunity to complete a lot of different types of tasks. Usually, every week, my main responsibilities included conducting research on mobility and transportation issues within Lebanon and the Arab Region, assisting in writing and developing grant or funding proposals, as well as writing blogs on global mobility trends and challenges.
I was a gallery assistant for the AAHD gallery spaces at the Union and SCENE Metrospace. My main responsibilities included laying out shows, hanging artworks and taking them down, general gallery maintenance, and greeting guests when they came into the space!
The internship title I held was the Sales and Marketing Intern position where I assisted in generating sales and supporting the sales floor by providing an excellent customer experience. I assisted in the visual merchandising of the store and off-site duties like running to the post office or grabbing coffee for a meeting. I completed daily sales floor tasks and monthly projects that dealt with research in terms of the company and partnerships to expand and generate profit.
I was Farm Bureau Insurance's graphic design intern and I was responsible for creating ads of all kinds (flyers, postcards, billboards, scoreboard signage, and many other things) per the request of the insurance agents, and was responsible for creating new 3 life campaigns over the summer.
I was a Legislative Intern with Senator Veronica Klinefelt at the Michigan Senate. Some of my responsibilities included monitoring legislation, preparing written correspondence, and conducting legislative research and analysis.
As a Content Development Intern with Lingco, I developed German content and contributed to the platform’s German Language resources and collaborated with native German speakers, instructional designers, videographers, and proof-to-create authentic materials, proofread content, and ensured high-quality, engaging content.
As an Environmental Education Intern, I completed work on nature-based projects, assisted with summer camp programs, wrote or assisted with articles and adverts for various projects and programs, as well as social media.
As a Student Lister with the MSU Surplus Store, my responsibilities included identifying books of art prints to process, disassembling and cutting prints to be photographed, and curating photo spreads of prints to facilitate sales.
My responsibilities as a Summer Legal Intern with Rosenberg Perry & Associates LLC included a variety of basic office tasks, such as answering phones, doing basic filing, and making copies, but also included more challenging legal tasks like legal research, drafting witness questions, and creating fact summaries for the attorneys and their cases.
