I learned that just because being an activist is usually an unpaid job, doesn't mean it should be. The largest skill that I built upon throughout this fellowship was my technological skills. I feel much more confident with my skills to be able to successfully function as a remote worker.
My favorite part of the entire process was getting to witness every court proceeding whether it was something as simple as an illegal concealed weapon or something as extreme as murder. It was such a unique and unfathomable experience that I will truly remember fondly for the rest of my life.
I was a part of building an exhibit called "The Observation Experiment" and I learned so much about the exhibit process while having so much fun working with my coworkers. The best part was putting the exhibits artifacts into their cases, it's a gentle yet creative process. Every day I would go home very tired. I didn't realize how much manual labor I would be doing, but I learned the importance of stretching before going to work.
