As a Marketing, UX/UI, and Web Development Intern at Spectrum Health in Dublin, Ireland, I supported daily marketing and website activities, including collaborating on social media, content, and marketing strategies. My responsibilities encompassed website updates, editing, and improvement efforts as part of a consolidation project, as well as UX/UI programming and design tasks. I contributed to the end-to-end process by defining patient journeys and identifying pain points.
As an Assistant English instructor with Global Kids UP in Tokyo, Japan, my main duties were to assist the main instructors in the execution of their jobs by aiding them in setting up the class and monitoring the activities of the children.
I balanced two internships, one in-person and one remote based in New York. At Michigan Creative in Lansing, MI, I was a Video Production & Project Management Intern. I worked with the video team to develop scripts, video concepts, and social media campaigns that align with client branding and marketing goals. For my remote internship with Trill Mag in New York, NY, I was a TV & Film Writer. I pitched, researched, and wrote articles on contemporary TV shows, films, and industry trends.
I was a Marketing and Design Intern for Apex. My responsibility was designing materials the company could use to improve its SEO and visual identity. Some examples I designed over the summer included motion graphics, presentation slides, a proposal for a website redesign, and a 2-minute informative video.
As a Research Assistant in the Art, Art History, and Design Department, my roles/responsibilities were to build wooden stretchers, stretch them with canvas, and prep them with gesso for painting for a professor of mine.
I was the Graphic Design/Pre-Press Intern at Foresight Group. For the first half of the summer, I moved every two weeks between the two buildings (Foresight Group and Foresight SuperSign), and for the second half, I settled over at Foresight SuperSign. I worked in the Pre-Press department at Foresight Group editing files and preparing them for print. At SuperSign, I worked on a larger scale preparing existing and new files for print.
This summer I had the amazing opportunity to work as a Photography Intern at Jimmy John's Field in Utica, MI. My responsibility as part of the media team was to provide coverage of the baseball games, with the mindset of supporting the positive, family atmosphere Jimmy John's Field strives to maintain. I would shoot for at least 7 innings, then edit and upload on-site so the media team could post immediately after the game ended. My photos would then be posted on Facebook, and Instagram, and used for print content and press releases.
I was a wildlife rehab assistant at Nottingham Nature Nook. My duties were to help feed, medicate, and exercise the wildlife we'd taken in for rehabilitation along with a pamphlet to help advertise the center. I got a lot of hands-on experience with animal care, maintenance, and advertisement.
I was a graphic design intern for Cardinal Rule Press. I helped create social media posts for book launches, events, webinar panels, and more. I also created for-print templates for their sister, nonprofit company—Making Spirits Bright—such as brochures and teacher events for their free book fairs. Additionally, I worked collaboratively with my fellow design and editorial interns to create a kid's menu and reader's guide for their upcoming book release.
