Mannheim, Germany | Fall/Spring
Spend a semester taking social science classes inside of an 18th century Baroque palace in the heart of Germany. This program type is designed for students seeking a rigorous and self-guided experience. To be successful, students must commit to uphold a significant degree of proactivity and professionalism. Students are often required to secure their own housing, book individual flights, obtain a student visa/residence permit, etc.
As a Junior Graphic Designer and Apparel Management, I assisted my employer, Maria Hayes, by designing marketing items for clients such as posters, banners, t-shirts, business cards, menus, etc. I also was in charge of iron-press printing and vinyl peeling for apparel orders.
Being a Graphic Design Intern meant I had a lot of responsibilities. I was a curator of social media content, designer of promotional marketing and online advertisements, photographer and stylist of models and shoots for website and digital media, and collaborator with owners and designers on upcoming projects and collections.
I was a Records Management Intern for Disability Attorneys of Michigan. I would review and confirm possession of specific records, make necessary calls to facilities, edit training manuals for all departments, and other necessary case manager tasks.
I was an Editorial/Scouting Assistant at Mango Publishing Group. My daily routine included reviewing submissions, acknowledgment letters to incoming submissions as well as acceptance and decline letters, email checking, etc.
My responsibilities as a Data Analyst and Design Intern include working with staff in the Individual Giving Unit Office including the Regional Lead, Stewardship Coordinator, Data Analytics, and Prospect Data staff, as well as completing a multi-faceted project presenting both visual analytics and data list reporting for major regions of MSU alumni in all colleges.
As a Fashion Merchandising and Design Intern with Jaline Resorts, I ran the social media accounts and the brand website. I also had the opportunity to design and style a photoshoot.
As the UX Strategist Intern at Viget, my main responsibility was to develop the Information Architecture for our Intern group project. Additionally, I assisted and shadowed real-world UX client projects, completed a curriculum covering topics such as Accessibility and Wireframing, started two professional development personal projects, and executed a solo presentation to all of Viget.
As an undergrad intern with Clinical Applications Of Speech Acoustics, I had a lot of different roles and responsibilities. These included things from getting and setting up furniture to obtaining and analyzing data from speakers and amplification devices.
