The advice that I have for other students seeking internship opportunities is to remain open-minded and to make the best of your internship experience. My internship placement wasn’t at a fashion brand as I hoped it would be, however since it was still within the design field, I collaborated with my site supervisor to make the most of my internship. Fortunately, I was able to work on projects that were all pertinent to my career field.

I advise other students to use your connections and resources to your advantage. Many MSU faculty and staff members are often willing to help in any way they can, especially during these difficult times. It is also important to not become discouraged and keep trying. There are opportunities everywhere, just remain open minded and stay positive!

My advice for other students would be that if you are looking for an international remote internship, to definitely apply for Connect-123. They helped me with everything and made the whole process very smooth and I could really tell that they wanted me to succeed. The program provided workshops and group discussions and endless help to those who needed it. They also asked what I wanted to do, which was motion design, and were able to give me a remote program on exactly that.

To other students looking for internships, I say don't be too picky! Chances are, no internship is going to have exactly what you want. My internship didn't reflect what I want to do in the future, but it was such a great learning experience!

My favorite part of the internship was the opportunity to learn about the "behind the scenes" of a small company. From the design process to editing the website, I was able to work closely with the team and develop an understanding for life as an entrepreneur. It was so exciting to see the process of ideation to creation, especially when her designs were specially made for customers or world-renowned brands.

My advice to other students is to always speak up if you’re interested in finding an internship! I brought up internships with my advisor, and I found out about this opportunity through him. I didn’t think I was ready for an internship at that time, but it’s never too early to at least start looking.

My favorite part of the internship was being able to help the team at Youlosophy improve their work booklets by editing their work or in other words giving the team constructive criticism. In addition, I was able to practice my Spanish with my supervisor who made Youlosophy a pleasant and encouraging working environment.

My internship is conducted in Spanish so, I have been able to gain a lot of knowledge on legal terminology in Spanish. I have also learned a lot about differences between the common law legal system of the U.S and the civil law system in Argentina. Beyond the particularities of my internship, I have enjoyed working with people from different backgrounds. The workplace environment and responsibilities are much different than the US and are more collective and collaborative which has been a very rewarding experience.
